I was admitted to bucknell under ed1, after my acceptance my grades fell, I got sick with mono and missed about three weeks of school. My mid year grades are now pretty terrible should I write them a letter or call them explaining my situation.
My grades are.
Honors Physics-78
Ap Psyc-83
Honors English-86
Ap Gov and Eco-89
AP BC Calc-87
AP Latin-87
Are these grades bad enough for them to take my acceptance away.

If your grades are lower than your grades when you were admitted (which I’m assuming they are as you use the phrase ‘pretty terrible’) then yes, I would contact them. Talk to your guidance counselor and ask the best way to do this. My instinct is to have your GC write a letter explaining your illness. Include a personal statement discussing your plan for success throughout the remainder of the year. The school doesn’t want to be hit blind-sided and think you don’t care about your grades, or you have given up thinking your acceptance gave you a free pass for the remainder of the year. By addressing this you show that you are aware the lower grades do not reflect what they were expecting, and you let them know how you plan to get back on track.

Your GC may give you different advise so meet with them first, but this is a good place to start. Do not wait to be contacted by Bucknell.

Best of luck and I hope you are feeling better.

My GC told me they arnt that bad and would not even get contacted about them and he said just raise them by the end. I am paranoid though.
