Need help on transferring into Cal

I am currently a highschool international student taking my IB finals exam. I am set on going to University of San Francisco for fall admit in a major of business and I am planning on transferring during my 2nd year but I would need some advice and help form you guys as I am not familiar with how the transfer system goes and what my chances are.

So I am wondering on a few questions concerning the following:
-Do I need to retake SAT?
-Highschool final IB results vs. first year GPA
-Any other important information that I need to know

Thank you

-Is it possible to transfer to the COLLEGE OF LETTERS & SCIENCE if I am doing a business major in USF?
-I understand that I have to take specific major related courses in my first year of college. What should I know about the requirements in Reading and Composition, Quantitative Reasoning, and Foreign Language?

Give USF a chance…you haven’t even left high school yet.

The vast majority of Cal transfers go in as juniors. Playing basketball or football well might improve your chances.

one of my friends is a business major at USF, and it’s a great program. transferring into cal as a non CC transfer is difficult as it’s lowest priority, have you considered just working hard at USF and then trying to get into Cal for grad school

Check out the UC Transfers forum on here.

Short answer: If you’re dead set on Cal, attend a California Community College.

SAT and high school GPA doesn’t matter for transfer admissions to Cal. If you attend a CCC you’ll complete IGETC, which is a standardized GE curriculum that is accepted by all UCs, all CSUs, and several private colleges. If you stay at USF… Things might get dicey. You won’t know what transfers, and what requirements it satisfies, until after you apply and are admitted.

The transfer process for CCC students is streamlined and if you’re sure you want to be at Cal, it’s the way to go.

Thank you nick, your response is extremely helpful. I am not “deadset” on cal and im open to other choices but i`ll keep what you said in mind.
