Need help picking a laptop.

I was hoping I could get some help. I'm looking for a light weight laptop for college.

Budget: $500-$800
Screen size: 13'-14.5'
Weight: <5 lbs
Battery life: At least 2 or 3 hours
Memory: 4 GB
Hard drive: 260-500 GB
I don't know much about processors. D:

I'm not a gamer but I do plan to use Photoshop on my laptop once in awhile. My cousin said an integrated graphic card would be okay for me.
I'm a Pharm. Sci. Major and I don't plan to take notes using my laptop.
Other things it should be able to do: Surf the web, watch videos, write documents.. the basics.

An optical drive would be nice but my cousins also mentioned that it's not needed. It's just a nice extra. :3

There were a couple that fit my description but I'm having a hard time choosing.
One example is the ASUS UL30Vt, but I'm hesitant to buy because I'm not sure how the quality is.

Please don't suggest a Mac. Lol, they're nice but just to expensive for me even with the school deals. Also, I don't know a much about computers so a nice description of the recommended would be great.

Thank you in advance for your recommendations . :D

The UL30 is a great laptop, and that was my recommendation as well. I’ve that laptop and it’s still kicking after a year in college, and still puts out 10 hours of battery life :)

HP G42t and G62t offer solid construction with powerful processors

Hunt newegg like everday for nice deals. For example:
[Newegg.com - lenovo G560(0679-4TU) NoteBook Intel Core i5 450M(2.40GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW Intel GMA 4500MHD](<a href=“Are you a human?”>Are you a human?)
[Newegg.com - Gateway NV5929u NoteBook Intel Core i5 430M(2.26GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel HD](<a href=“Are you a human?”>Are you a human?)

In my opinion look for something that has an Intel core i3 or i5 processor because they’re probably the best investment for a $500-$800 machine. Also look for something with a solid construction, not cheap plastic. Going for the integrated graphics is a great choice for you because you can probably get ~4 hours.

Additionally to cover photoshop integrated graphics work, considering all it will be displaying is 2d graphics. However, for photoshop, look at RAM and CPU. Unless you can find two computers in that price range with a notable difference in RAM, just have your focus on CPU, since RAM is probably all going to be 4gb for that price range.
