I want to apply somewhere as an econ or POSSIBLY sociology major

Can anyone suggest some good liberal arts colleges or universities on the east coast or in the midwest? What are my stats good for? If people could suggest some reaches/matches that would be great. Would colleges take into account an upward grade trend?

I can write a good essay

P.S What would my chances be for Northwestern?

anyone ?

I think for you, assuming you prefer CA schools, UC Riverside, UC Irvine may be good options for you. Your C and F hurt your chance to top CA schools but you can still apply and see what happens. Try USC if you are rich enough. Also, almost all Calstate schools will probably be your safety.

I know that the CSU and UC system both accept academic renewal of grades, i am actually wondering about out of state schools? Would they be more likely to average the grades or take the new one?

for those options, you have abundance of choices, I think you have to narrow down to a state first.

Also, realistically speaking, your profile won’t match the Ivy ones so don’t aim for Harvard or similar ones.

Also, the most important you should ask is what is your criteria for your dream school? You don’t just wanna ask whether they accept you but you also have to ask whether or not YOU will accept them! Do you look for diverse body students, small class, popular, party …etc? What is your criteria?
