Need help please!

I was accepted into UF as a transfer student, and as I logged in my ISIS account I had this for my financial aid letter(Look Below). I don't understand. Is the pell grant money all they are offering me? or is there more aid on the way? I don't know how this works, since I was receiving $6000 a year at my local community college. How will I come up with the rest. since I was laid off my place of employment in may last year, I have been in unemployment compensation since, and I have no other income. can someone please help!!!! Thank you!

damn that’s a pretty horrid financial aid for a public school. i’m pretty sure that’s the final one they’re offering you. that’s amazing that they expect you to take that many loans - i am trying to appeal my financial aid for UR, a private university, and they’re making me take $15,000 so this is a bit horrible.

[Financial Aid - How to Petition](http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/receiving/petition.html)
read that link and send them an appeal ASAP. they get a lot of admissions so the faster you appeal the better your chance. explain about your unemployment.

What was the breakdown of your aid at your CC? How much was in Pell?

Has your EFC changed?

I am receiving $2675 per semester in the form of federal pell grant. My EFC needs to be adjusted just like in my CC since I lost my employment in May 2009. However, I had sent W2’s and copy of taxes to UF financial aid, well ahead of time. Before I was accepted. I assume that if it has not been done so, I should qualify for the higher pell grant since my current income is nothing but a bi-weekly unemployment check. and for the amount of time I worked last year, I made less than 20K including my unemployment for 2009. However, even if they give me the full pell, my need will be greater but the aid will be about the same, not enough to cover for my studies.
