Hey, I need advice on what to do. I've given my teacher all the forms / envelopes he needs for recommendation letters, but just found out today that Villanova also needs a teacher rec? On the commonapp site it said they didn't need one, but on their main site it says I do. How would I go about telling my teacher this since I'm already on x-mas break. There is no way I'll be able to hand them to him in person.

Also, I've added UPenn to my list of schools and I need to give that to both my teachers for rec's. But I can't for the same reason that I'm on vacation. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? Plz!!!!!

I'd say you better find their home numbers or you are royally screwed...you should plan your prospective college list earlier than a week before deadline

if you are using the common app you dont need to go by what it says on the main site...that is for people who are not using common app...however, i am not doing either of those schools so i dont know the specific details of your situation

I know its irresponsible of me, but I just decided that I want to apply to Cornell...both teachers have already written recommendations for other colleges so all they'd have to do is photocopy it and fill out Cornell's form. I have their e-mail...should I mail them the forms and envelopes...>???

Don't panic -- you can email the teachers and see how they want to proceed. I see no reason why you can't mail the forms and envelopes if they are amenable to this.

Even if you can't reach the teachers over break, it isn't the end of the world. You can arrange for the recommendations to be sent in January. No college is going to disregard your application if your recommendations aren't there at the application deadline. They let you know your application is missing one or both (same thing is true for transcripts and test scores) if they have gotten to the point of reviewing your file before you manage to get it complete. And you arrange for it to be completed ... No biggie.

The school my daughter is attending now informed us some time after the application deadline that one recommendation was missing. She contacted the recommender, a new recommendation went out, and she got in. (Obviously, ED/EA applications are different -- if they aren't complete at the deadline you might have problems.)

A couple schools never got (or lost) test scores, also. The same thing happened -- they let us know and we remedied the situation.

Thanks Diane..thats a relief. I'll e-mail the teachers and ask them how they'd like to get it done. Would you happen to know how to send my ACT score to colleges?
