<p>Hi, I'm wondering if there is a certain order to follow in submitting an application.
For example, is it OK if the letters of recommendation or transcript and other materials that can't be submitted online, are sent to the schools first instead of the personal information?
And is it OK if we submit our personal info first, but then the letters of recommendation are sent AFTER the deadline...</p>
<p>The usual process for colleges is to start an admission file on you as soon as they receive any materials that apply to admission and thus what you send first should not matter. However, colleges are somewhat prone to have a mistake occur once in a while if they get things other than the application first (generally the mistakes get corrected but it can take some effort to do so). What actually has to be in by an application deadline date varies among colleges and you need to check with particular colleges to which you are applying. However, for most, the application must be submitted by the deadline date but transcript, test scores, and recs can come a little afterward.</p>
