Hello, I am a future international undergrad. I am filling out the isfaa for 2016-2017.
I have a few questions :
- How do I complete question 16? It says to include all the mentioned family members and asks for their name of school, year in school etc and the amount of parents’ contribution. So which family members should I include here? Its quite confusing since I first figured I ought to mention my parents’ name here but the other info required threw me off.
- The firm asks for a lot of specific household expenses and we are not quite sure about the exact amounts spent. also it asks for the current value of our house, assets and savings which also, we are unsure about. So do I put in estimates in these boxes? Also what savings is it talking about? money in the bank, bonds?
- In Q. 32 I am required to show how much my family can pay yearly right? For eg, WPI told me that I have to show at least 17k. So do I have to show 17k for each of the 4 years or just the first year?. Also if the money comes from 2 sources for eg family income and assets, then the cumulative amount should be 17k right?
- What other documents do I have to mail the university in addition to the ISFAA? For e.g do I need tax forms or bank statements? If so, how many years’ tax return forms do i need to show or how recent a bank balance do I need to produce?
My deadline is on the 1st of February, just 14 days away. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

Family members would also include your dependent siblings…are any on college? How much do your oarents contribute?

What could you sell your house for today? That is the value of your house minus any mortgage you have on it.
Sure,y your oarents have some idea how much money they spend on other things.,ask them.
Savings include all bank accounts…not qualified retirement plans but all other accounts.

Put whatever amount your family can reasonably pay in this line.

You need to check the financial aid section for international students at your colleges. Each school will list exactly what you need to submit…as well,as their deadlines to do so.
