I just got accepted to San Diego State and Cal Poly Pomona.

I'm really having a hard time deciding which school to attend in the fall of 08.

My major is Business/ Information Systems. I will be a transferring from a Community College in Orange County.

Any Input, suggestions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Did I post this in the wrong section or something?

some people are ass holes on these boards. Anyways your better off at SDSU, especially for business. However, feel free to post on the SDSU board http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/san-diego-state-university/

Congrats on your acceptances!

I would attend SDSU for business.

Thanks, as you can see I'm new to this site. I actually thought I posted incorrectly by mistake. But at any rate, Thank you and thanks for the link.

Im leaning towards SDSU, but do you think studying Computer/Management Info. Systems would still be better at SDSU rather than Cal Poly, because cal poly has a strong Engineering & Computer Science Dept? I'm a bit unsure because a CIS/ MIS is very close to a Computer Science degree, no?...

then again, it's still under business. So maybe I should just go to SDSU.

Also, SDSU is just so cool.

thanks again!

I'd say it's a wash. SDSU has the fact that it's in San Diego going for it CPP has the fact that it may, in certain circles, have a tiny bit more prestige. Since one of my favorite sayings is "prestige schmeshtige" I'd advise you to go to SDSU

Yes, CIS/MIS is going to be under the business umbrella.
You're right that Cal Poly Pomona has a stronger EECS department. If you were interested in engineering, I'd choose CPP. But, since you're interested in business/MIS, I'd choose SDSU...it has a bigger department, more resources, more recruiting for business, and more alumni connections.

Be prepared that it will likely take you 5 years to finish at either SDSU or CPP...it can be quite a pain getting the classes you require. Sit in on any class you want/need and push the profs to add you. This is the biggest drawback of any CSU.

thanks for the feedback.

I will go to SDSU, but wow 5 more years as a transfer student... I dont know if I can handle that. I did not know that about the CSU's. I'm wondering if I should have applied to a different type of school.

the only thing is I only have a 3.0 gpa and took the CSU path of classes at my community college.

Ooops...not 5 years as a transfer student. 2-3 years. Good luck!

lol, oh good that's a relief. because I'm already a 28 year old transfer student. haha
