Hi, I’m currently a freshman at Baruch, and since I’m posting here after a month I’m obviously not enjoying it too much. The professors are pretty good, but the students all go home after class, and it’s really boring, They also don’t have my major, international relations. I’m very confused about the whole transfer process, and am wondering which schools I should try to apply to. So far, my potential list is as follows
Maryland
UVa
George Washington University
Georgetown
Penn State
Northwestern
Northeastern
Boston College
Boston University
Tufts
UNC-Chapel Hill
Johns Hopkins

I’m wondering what my chances are at any of those schools. My high school GPA was pretty low which is why I went to Baruch, about a 3.0 weighted. SATs were 1880, I’m white, not applying for financial aid. I’m not sure what my GPA will be at the end of the semester, but I’m guessing at least a 3.5, and hopefully closer to 3.7 or 4.0. Extracurriculars are pretty bad, I train in martial arts, but that’s pretty much it right now. I’m hoping to change that by the end of the year though. I really don’t want to have to stay at Baruch for another year after this, but is that what I’d have to do to get into any of the schools I want? Also, does anyone have any other suggestions for schools? My criteria is that they have international relations, preferably in a city, the students should be social, and if they can help finding internships for government positions that’s a plus.
Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, I’m in the middle of writing a speech and didn’t really proofread it well. Thanks for any input though, I really have no idea where to go from here.
