I'm attending UCSC but want to transfer to UCI into business management economics.
I'm confused as to what the seven course requirement is - does that apply to cc only?

As for which classes to pick, should I just be knocking out all my GE's right now? I'm planning to take business economics at UCI, but assist.org shows that anything harder than basic micro/macro classes have to be taken at UCI - this concerns me because I'm not sure how many econ classes I should be taking here at UCSC and I don't want to fall behind in my major once I get to UCI. What types of classes would you suggest me take?

Also a bit more off topic but what type of GPA should I be looking at to SAFELY be admitted into UCI?

Finish the UCSC GE! That way you’ll get UC GE reciprocity.
As for your major, I checked at assist and, from what I understand, you should complete Micro and Macroecon, Calculus and Linear Algebra, an introductory Computer Science course and 2 introductory Social Science courses (psychology, sociology, anthropology, cultural geography, linguistics…).
I checked for the articulation with De Anza at [ASSIST Report: DAC 10-11 UCI Articulation Agreement by Major](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)
Just check out what the courses articulated between a CCC (De Anza for example) and UCI are. Then check the course equivalencies of these courses with UCSC courses. For example UCI’s ECON 20A (Basic Economics I) is equivalent to De Anza’s ECON 2 which is equivalent to UCSC’s ECON 1.
I hope this helps!

No idea concerning GPA…
