I am trying to get a private loan and send the company a e-mail requesting info on their repayment policy. A section of their reply was as follow.

"In case of the Subsidized Stafford loans the government pays the interest during grace, in an In-School period and approved periods of deferment.

In case of the Unsubsidized Stafford and CitiAssist loans you are responsible for paying the accrued interest at all times from the date of disbursement. Although it is suggested, you are not required to pay any interest during an In-School status and grace. If you choose not to pay the interest, it will not adversely affect your credit profile. Any unpaid interest will be capitalized (added to the principal balance) at the end of your grace period."

That grace period they are talking about, is it the policy on the government loans that states borrowers have until 6 months after they graduate (or no longer attending school) before they have start repaying??
