Need Help With a Math Problem

the Equation
A=C(1+r/100)^n
9540=15000(1+r/100)^3

How do i use logs to solve this problem
cant remember logs.....i learned it in the stone age

9540=15000(1+r/100)^3

why use logs? set u=1+r/100 and then solve for u...then solve for r. Not so bad.

can you show me how to do that......not really sure what you mean

bumpppppppppp......need help....test tomorrow

A=C(1+r/100)^n
9540=15000(1+r/100)^3

If u=1+r/100, then

9540=15000u^3
.636=u^3
u = .. . . . something, don't want to get my calc

so . . set whatever you get for u equal to
1+r
100

and solve for r

i did that but somehow i am getting 20% and 14 %
and i forgot to mention one thing.....its a depreciaation problem.....so it shouldnt be 1-r/100
