need help with BALANCINg everything

hey- i think im going to run into a slight issue later this year. I'm a junior and so far i've taken one SATII, Biology-M, and i got a 720 on it (freshman year). I took the SATI in March, and I've calculated that im going to get between a 2250 and a 2300 on it. I thought aobut some of the math and I know I made some very careless errors, and i KNOW FOR SURE taht I am going to be able to do better on teh math section, which would get my superscore to at least 2300. But here is the issue:
I am planning on taking 3 SATII's this year- the Biology (im pretty sure I can do better b/c im in the AP course now), Math IIC, and US History. I was hoping that I would do well enough on the SATI that I would only have to take it once, but there is no way that I am not going to take it again since I know for sure that I would be able to do better on at least the Math section. I had signed up for the Biology and US History SATII's in May (they coincide with the AP tests, so i thought it would be better to only study once), and I was going to take the Math IIC SATII in June. BUT, now i need to take the SATI again. I could take all 3 SATII's in May, but I thought that would be extremely excessive and tiring. That is really the only possible option considering the only other available time to take the SATI during my Junior year would be in June (i want to get everything done Junior year). Any advice? Is my original Bio score good enough? HELP!! I really dont want to be overwhelmed.

P.S.- just so you know, the types of colleges that I want ot apply to are Penn, Georgetown, Swarthmore, Tufts, and others like that (My school grades and EC's are good enough)

Thanks a lot!

mm well i'm in the exact same situation as yours, only i already took the SAT I in january and i know i have to retake (i got a 2250 but my CR score was on the low side for schools i'm looking at). and i'm taking the exact same sat ii's as you are. what i decided to do is the following:

may: USH/ Math IIC (along with ap exams for ush/bio)
june: bio
october: SAT I

the reason for this is because my ush teacher doesn't require students with A marks to take the final exam so i wanted to get over with USH in may (and i'm relatively good at this subject) and I don't want to study it again in june. Math IIC is not that much prep if you're taking precalc or higher.

My bio teacher requires even "A" students to take the final exam so I might as well take Bio SAT II in june (b/c it's like the day after my finals). plus the time btwn the ap bio exam and my finals are like 2-3 weeks at most so it will be fresh.

Now the reason for my taking the SAT I in October is quite simple. my math score and writing score (760, 800 respectively) is high enough and my CR score was the lowest. I didn't think I could improve my CR score into the 700s by June or May and I thought I could use the summer and the future to be assigned AP English lit readings to help me (i've heard quite a few success cases on people who noticed improvements b/c they waited until october). Now I know it's risky because october is the last test date (for ED applicants anyway, if that's you ^^) but MOST people improve scores if they are given that much time btwn your first and second testing (you'll be more relaxed, and you'll know the testing environment, you'll be more prepared, you'll know your weaknesses and hopefully improved upon it, etc) so I think it's worth the gamble. anyway i'm so sorry for the prolonged ramble haha.

I hope it helped--I just thought I'd post because I am in the almost same exact situation as you and it took me a lot of time/weighing options to decide the best course of action. and of course the schedule you ultimately decide on could be better suited for you and vice-versa. I wish you luck on the standardized tests and future applications! =]

p.s. i would highly discourage taking 3 sat iis in one date for a number of reasons. 1) it's going to be extremely taxing on your body--emotionally and physically; 2) if and when you happen to get a low score on any of the three and you want to cancel it, you have to cancel all three so that's something you might want to think about. if my post seems kind of convoluted, it's b/c my mind's kinda convoluted (i just had surgery and i'm on painkillers lol and those screw with your head haha)

i have the same problem. i'm taking the bio and chem sat II's, but really need to take the math at the same time. how bad is it to do 3 tests in one day. i'm finishing my sat prep class so i didn't know if i should try to take the math this year vs. next fall. do i need to worry about that or should i take the math II test next fall instead and not kill myself with three?

thanks a lot for the help

wheels- i acutally heard from one of my friends that u werent allowed to take 3 SATII's in one day...

what a nerd.

hey CLIFF buddy- i really wouldnt be talking until u get that MATH up over 480

Brownie, it's up to and inclusive of three SAT IIs in one day. :)
