So basically I am looking at colleges and I have my heart set on BU and Northeastern...my grades are average basically a B but my ec's are outstanding.

School paper editor in chief
Admissions intern
Class treasurer sophomore year
Class president junior year
Student body president senior year

Is it even realistic for me to apply? And would applying Ed make a difference?

We need to know other factors, such as GPA, class rank, ACT/SAT, volunteer hours, awards, athletics, school type, race, family income, area of residence, etc. If you can tell us this, our predictions will be infinitely more accurate(:

Haha sorry it’s the first time I post on here. I am Brazilian, I go to a private school in Connecticut. My gpa is probably like a 3.3 I have taken 2 Ap classes and plan on taking more this year. I don’t know my class rank. Money isn’t a factor. My sats were 1900. I was on soccer and varsity golf. I performed in plays as well as managed the house for the productions. I have volunteered with the younger students in my school and plan to tutor more this year. Lastly, I have won leadership awards, honors, and an excellence award for yearbook.

I’d work on getting your class rank up. I’m not sure about BU but it’s a possibility that Northeastern could be in your future, since other than your GPA/class rank, you sound fairly similar to my friend who got accepted there. She was in the top 10%, so try to get to there and you should be fine. Actually, your ECs were a lot better than hers.

Is Brazilian counted as Hispanic? If so, your chances increase even more. By the way, if you get all As and bring your SAT up, that’ll only help(: Really work on your essays though, they’ll be what sets you and other students with a low GPA apart.

Will applying ED to either of them help me?

It will HURT YOU at BU! However, it WILL help you at Northeastern. Are you Hispanic?
