Need Help with College Decision

I applied to ten schools, and was accepted into 9, and am really conflicted about where i want to go next year. I am probably going to study environmental science, but am not 100% sure on that. I am somewhat shy, so i am somewhat worried about getting "lost in the crowd" if i go to a big school. I like all the schools, and would probably be pretty happy at any of them. I don't feel the need to be in a big city, but i would definitely prefer to have access to at least a moderate-sied college town rather than just having the school with no surrounding town. Money is a consideration but not a major issue. My top four schools right now are UVM, Northeastern, UConn, and Stonehill.

Accepted at (no particular order):

Northeastern University (Boston is a great location, but their env. program does not seem to be very good)

University of Connecitcut
University of Massachusetts Amherst (Might be too big for me at 20,000 + undergrads)
Stonehill College (with a $5,000 scholarship) (Stonehill and Saint Anselm may be too small)
Saint Anselm College (with a $12,000 scholarship)
University of Vermont (#1 currently, because of env. program, size, and burlington, although i am worried about the cold weather)

University of New Hampshire
Bentley University ( i like the school, but am not sure if i want to do business)

If you have any thoughts about these schools and/or advice on deciding, then please let me know. Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If U of Vermont is your #1 (have you really researched your other options? how is the cost compared to others you’re considering? have you been to campus, preferably for an overnight?), then I wouldn’t worry about the cold weather so much. Buy a coat.

I have visited the University of Vermont, and spent a night checking out burlington. UVM is slightly more expensive than the other public universities, and somewhere in the middle in terms of the private schools.

Costs:
UVM: $40,000
UConn: $38,000
UNH: $35,000
Umass: $20,000 (in-state)
Northeastern: $48,000
Saint Anselm: $31,000 (w/scholarship)
Stonehill: $39,000 (w/scholarship)
Bentley: $47,000

Go to the school you can afford, there is a big difference in UMass at 20K and the others 31K-47K. Even UVM is twice as much. maybe try staying in a dorm overnight at UMass, then you can justify the extra 10K+ each year if you really hated it.

hi–it is late and I will just give you my ideas–I think either UVM or Stonehill. I have seen both and the $ is similair as long $$ is not an issue as you posted. While UMass is less $$ it is huge and a different adventure that these 2. UVM will be a great cultural and exciting town (live in OR. and have visited and love Burlington) and so you buy a down jacket. Stonehill is a cozy and close campus and reminded me of summer camp.
OK–without knowing your leanings I would vote UVM for my D and S given your great choices. Good luck with your decision and congrats with all of these great choices!!!
