I am going to be a junior in high school and I am thinking between a chemistry related major or a business related major.
I would really appreciate some suggestions of schools that I should consider that have good programs for either of these majors. Please list tops schools. I already have my safety schools I am looking for reach schools.
Home State? How much can you and your family afford? Estimated Stats?
Money is not really an issue and I am from New Jersey @Gumbymom
Nearly every comprehensive college and university in the U.S. has a biology and chemistry department, and most are pretty good or better. At the top are places like UCalifornia Berkeley, UMichigan, Mighigan State U (the Briggs School of Life Sciences), U of Delaware. Of course there are dozens of others, including small colleges such as…
Ohio Wesleyan University
Allegheny College
Case Western Reserve University
This list goes on and on. And there are good economics departments everywhere. Undergraduate business studies is another matter. Business is a graduate degree program only at many universities. You need to define what you’re looking for in a college.
@LakeWashington I just wanted to know what the best schools in the areas that I want to study are. I know i can look up the listings online, but I want to know more about those schools and why they’re the best, not just their ranking. One of the things I was wondering about specifically was if it is worth it to apply to a school like UPenn for chemistry or am I better of applying to a school like UC- Berkley for chemistry?
Rice University has a nice chemistry program if you’re looking for one (they made the bucky balls :)>- )
I would say definitely U.C Berkeley over UPenn
Business is definitely the best at Wharton (UPenn) for sure, but a choice that is often underrated in my opinion in McCombs at UT Austin
