Hi,

I am an engineering student from the UK.

I have done my BTEC National Diploma (level 3) in engineering and my grades according to A-levels were AAA (i.e. 3 A's)

I currently am doing my B.Eng (Hons.) Mechanical Engineering. (Year 2) in Edinburgh.

I want to do my masters program in either Mechatronics or Robotics.

And the two universities i am interested in are:
1) University of Penn.
2) Carnegie Mellon University.

I haven't taken any exams such as SAT, GMAT, GRE... as they were not required for a UK university

And Until now my diploma + 2nd year grades have been (3 A's + 8 subjects in 2nd year having 8 sems in which i have all A's)

I know how competitive it is to enter these universities. i wanted to know what exams are needed to be taken for doing a Masters degree in U.S.

if not these universities will it be hard to enter other universities like U berkley or Stanford... or any other university offering a Robotics degree.

And how do i convert my Grades into U.S Gpa... and what extra stuff is recommended to be done before applying to U.S. universities.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANKS A LOT.

Bumping it… guys really need help with this…

For general information about studying in the US, read through the information at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) For advice more specific to your situation, make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to you. There is one in London [EducationUSA - Center Profile - US-UK Fulbright Commission - Fulbright Advisory Service](http://www.educationusa.info/Fulbright-UK) If you can’t visit in person, find out how much help they can give you by email or over the phone.

Another good source of information would be the professors at your university who have studied in the US and/or have professional contacts there. Ask around your department. Surely someone has spent a sabbatical at one of the universities that you are interested in, and can help you find out a bit more about it.

Wishing you all the best!
