need help with extracurriculars. chances please!?

ok, i have some serious questions about ec's and chances to get into college.

i have been told that you do not need to have academic ec's to get into college. i've also noticed that a lot of people say to leave things out of their applications, to orient them or focus them specifically on an area. i have a lot of ec's and i'm wondering what i should leave out.
