I read in an earlier post that the fafsa and profile deadlines are february 15. How can you complete fafsa if you have not recieved your taxes and what is a profile?

sorry, disreguard that question about the profile.. how strick is tulane about the profile and fafsa deadline?

Most schools are flexible with deadlines, I had this same question a while ago. If you were to email Tulane about it I'm sure they'd reply with "we will still look over your Fafsa, but please get all materials in as soon as possible." This was the response I got when I emailed a college about this b/c I missed the Fafsa deadline. However I was 3 days late, and you are about a week late, it should affect your fin aid package, but not by ALOT. If you don't have this year's tax forms use 2007 values and for bank statements, mortages, and other questions estimate. Complete the FAFSA today and submit it. The submit day will be known to Tulane, and that's why you want to submit it today even if info's not correct. It's so easy to correct FAFSA, so when you DO get correct forms and such, correct it. The CSS profile takes way longer to complete than FAFSA but I think you can do it. Keep in mind that the CSS profile cannot be corrected after you submit it online unless you print out your application correct it by hand and mail it to Tulane. Definitely submit FAFSA today, but if you're going to get necessary info soon I'd hold off on CSS profile. If you're going to get that info not so soon you might as well fill it out to the best of your ability and submit.

How long does it take for them to respond to you after you turn in your fafsa? I got mine in about 2 weeks ago.

First, you don't get a fin aid package until you've been accepted. Once you get that acceptance letter, some may get their fin aid letter within days but most take weeks. To raymonzine if you have gotten accepted, I'd wait two more weeks before you start to get anxious. But if you're really feeling nervous you should call the finaid office at Tulane.

Last year Tulane sent out financial aid packages the last week in March. They sent an email with a link, and the hard copy came a few days later. Son had been accepted EA so it was a long wait.
