it seems like everyone already planned out what classes they want to take. besides my math and writing, i have absolutely no idea what courses to take for my first quarter. since i'm going to be a psychology major, i am required to take computer programming. i was wondering what do you guys recommend for someone who doesn't know much about computers besides the basics? CSE 3, CSE 5A, or MAE 5?

also, what direction should i go towards for my freshmen year? sociology, econ, or cognitive science? any suggestion is much appreciated. thankss.

not knowing any of your background/interests/etc, i think you should use your freshman year to explore topics that are of benefit to YOU.

i've heard good/easy things about MAE 5 ... not so much about CSE 5A. isn't that the watered-down version of CSE 8 or something?

I hear that CSE 3 is pretty easy. Thats probably what I am going to take for that requirement.

what about MA9 (C/C++ )

Would it be too hard for someone of non programing background (although I do plan to study some on my own before school starts) or is this another good class to "explore" my interests. (maybe switch to EE or CS from bioe)
