Need Help with How to Get Readmitted!

About 5 years ago, I was enrolled in a 4 year private institution, coming from what could be viewed as a fairly successful high school career; (i.e. 3.6 GPA, 1100 SAT, Baseball, FBLA). During my first year at college, I had a solid first semester, ending with a 3.4 GPA, during my second semester however, I stopped going to class and essentially failed all of my classes. Due to the failed semester, I was academically dismissed from the institution. I then enrolled in my local community college in attempt to collect a few credits, earn a strong GPA, and gain readmission to my previous institution. Due to extenuating circumstances, I ended up dropping out of the community college, but was too late to technically withdrawal from classes causing me to fail all of my courses. I then relocated to another state and the same thing happened the following semester at a different community college. Now in present day, I am 24, I have an incredible job but am limited in how far I can advance without a degree and having been giving some serious thought to going back to college full time at a university to finally earn my diploma but am very concerned I would be rejected for admission because of my track record. With this being said, my employer of incredibly high accreditation would certainly recommend my admittance, but still, how would I go about this and do I have a chance at getting admitted?

First let me say I sympathize with your situation. You definitely need to visit the counseling office at your former CC. You may be able to petition for course renews without repetition. I did this once and was able to wipe out an entire terrible semester. You also have the option of repeating the courses and wiping out the failed grades that way. Life happens, period. I don’t think all hope is lost at all, you just need to be very strategic now.
