Need help with listing activities

<p>Hey guys so I'm a little confused on filling out the activities section. I have been doing computer security research on my own for the past 4 years, as well as having developed two video games using c++ and directx. However, I haven't published anything because I did it simply for a learning experience and for fun so I can do well in computer science classes in college.</p>

<p>I listed these activities separately on the common app and said I did them each for four years, but I'm not sure I should do this because I haven't published anything. If I was asked what I did, I could explain everything I've done and show the two games - but should I put these on the Common App? Both of these activities take up lots of my time but there not like school related or anything.</p>

<p>Any insight would be helpful, thanks in advance!</p>

<p>If you spend alot of time with these activities, you should certainly put them on the CA.
Listing hobbies, talents is fine as long as you actually spend alot of time pursuing those interests. The activities section doesn’t just have to be a list of school activities.</p>

<p>Yeah I spend like 15 hours/week game programming so I think that might be significant?</p>
