Need Help with Loans

Hello all,

Sometime this summer, I'll be transferring into a new college and moving into my own apartment. Previously, I attended a cheap university and lived at home so I didn't have many expenses or a need for a loan.

With my new situation now, I will need to finance about $6,000 worth of tuition per year. I have applied for financial aid through FAFSA but I doubt I'll get any money with a contribution estimate around $8000. I'm expecting to pay for my whole tuition as of now. Where should I look for the best loan? Is there anything in particular I need to look out for?

Besides the student loan, I will also need a loan for my apartment and other expenses. I'll be working part-time but that won't be enough. What can I do to finance this? I'd like to consider a separate loan between $5,000 and $10,000 for this.

If anyone could share some of their thoughts on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you all in advance. :)

I suggest if you are independent- to work out a budget for expenses and income before you move.
Are there not dorms available? Perhaps you can find some classmates to share space and expenses with.

I am listed as a dependent and filed my taxes as one this year.

Where should I look for federal aid besides FAFSA? And where should I look for student and private loans?
