Need Help With My College List!

hey CC! I’m currently a HS Senior and trying to finalize my college list. I would love it if people could suggest some schools I could look into, because I’m thinking of adding 2-3 more colleges.

Some Notes:

  • Cost is not a major factor
  • I’m want to study biology on the pre-med track. (I know pre-med can weed out a lot of students so of course i’m not 100% certain if that will stick through college).
  • I prefer mid-size schools…so preferably not a LAC. Around 15,000 students give or take! I would rather go to a bigger school like some on my list (USC and UCSB) than a LAC.
  • I like warm weather! Cold weather isn’t a deal breaker though.
  • I like a school that’s diverse! I’m Asian lol

Stats:
UW GPA - 3.8
W GPA - 4.2
SAT: 1500 (retaking next week!)
9 AP Courses:
AP Macro AP Bio, AP World, APUSH, AP Stat: 4
AP Micro: 3
AP Calc AB, AP Physics, AP Euro: currently taking

Extracurriculars:

  • Lead of a major climate organization in my state. Invited by the United Nations and governor of my state to discuss passing legislation. Had my research published in 120 paper about carbon emissions.
  • Lead of organizing climate strikes in my area with Fridays for Future
  • Editor (3 years editor, 1 year staff) of school yearbook that has won several journalism awards.
  • 9 years of flute performance
  • 11 years of studio art classes (may send in art portfolio?)
  • Model United Nations (only 1 award)
  • Neuroscience Club (presented at a Women in STEM conference at an Ivy)
  • Started my own Outdoors Club.
  • Japanese NHS 11,12
Over 200 hours of community service. Includes tutoring at local middle school and creating skits for local schools on racial and cultural acceptance.

Current List:

  • Emory (ED 1)
  • Tufts (ED 2)
  • University of Miami (EA)
  • Wellesley College (Early Review…I think for Wellesley this is basically rd? correct me if im wrong)
  • UPitt (Rolling, Safety)
  • Rutgers NB (EA, Safety)
  • College of William and Mary (RD, legacy)
  • UC Santa Barbara (RD)
  • USC (RD)
  • U of Rochester (RD)

Do you guys think I need more “Target” colleges? Feel free to suggest target/reach colleges with a good bio program. I think I’m good for safeties though (I’m applying to Rutgers in state).

Here are some others to consider:
University of Virginia
Tulane
Syracuse (safety). I know it’s colder but you have Rochester on the list!

Thanks! I signed up for Tulane’s mailing list and got a free application. I’m interested in applying!
