I never done this nomination process thing, but I know on Westpoint's site, they have the sample letter of the nomination. Do i just copy that, and fill out the blanks and send it to all the congressmen, vice, senate and etc.? Help me out please.

DO NEITHER! Most representatives (and the vice president too) have an application you can find on their website. Each one has his/hero own application. In my case they consisted of small essays, teacher recommendations, and normal personal info/transcript/test score stuff.

let me repeat: eash representative has their own specific application!!! use those!

I think he was asking how to request the application for a nomination. For this step of the process a candidate can use the sample letter or write their own request letter.

For the application itself, you are absolutely correct. Follow each possible nominator's instructions meticulously. They will be different and have different deadlines.

The letter to your Senator/Representative/Vice President is simply asking that you be considered for a nomination. They will return to you a packet that you must complete, dot all your i's, cross all your t's, get your recommendations, etc I wouldn't tend to copy it and fill in the blanks by hand, but rather re-type it exactly as it appears. It is the way it is for a reason; this is the Army; do it their way! Once you complete the required information from your nominating sources, they will either nominate you or not.

Opening a file at West Point has nothing to do with receiving the actual nomination, but in our case our nominating sources required that a file be opened at West Point before they would even send their packet of information. Once a file is opened, which anybody can do, you will start receiving information from West Point as to the application process.

You must (1) apply by opening a file at West Point (which you can do online), (2) request a nomination, (3) be found fully qualified based on the completion of the packet of material from West Point, (4) receive a nomination, (5) received an affer of appointment once steps 1-4 are complete, (6) accept the offer, (7) receive an appointment.
