<p>not bad if you don’t think it will help. It is optional. My son was accepted last year without an optional essay. However, I don’t think there was an optional essay last year.</p>
<p>Don’t send it in if it doesn’t offer up another perspective of yourself to help in the admissions process (AKA: showcases you as unique in comparison to others).</p>
<p>If you still want opinions, though, I’ll read it.</p>
