I can't decide between the honors program at OSU versus college of arts and sciences at nyu. I am currently undecided in what kind of major to pursue but have a feeling it will be logic-oriented (i.e. economics, law, math...). There are plenty of obvious Pros and Cons to both universities and they basically balance each other out. If I were to make the decision based solely on the following factor, which should i choose?
-The school that will best help me find my major and eventual career path and then provide me with opportunities to excel in that area (internships, research, grad school)

(I think I am leaning towards OSU right now because of their explorations program and more student-friendly system)

Benkusa, I don't know much about NYU, but OSU's honors program is supposed to be very good plus the school in general is really on the rise. Also, you will most likely get some very good benefits being in their honors program. Best of luck with your decision.

Speaking as an OSU student with no knowledge of NYU.

If you're undecided it's rather nice to attend a school with 170 majors - and the honors program really is fantastic as far as student support goes. Research is highly encouraged and students are very much supported in that endeavor. From my POV, if you want to do research or obtain an internship the only thing that could hold you back is a lack of ambition. You need to be self-motivated. Granted, New York is an awesome place for internships but Columbus isn't too shabby either.

I think if you're leaning towards OSU already, you can't go wrong choosing to go here.

Ok it depends on what kind of experience you want. Academically NYU over OSU, BUT if you want a traditional college experience (parties, sporting events, huge university) then go to OSU. However, NYC is the flipside of that. You won't get the traditional experience, but you will get the live in NYC which is an opportunity to live in one of the world's great cities for 4 yrs. Personally, I would opt for NYC and the higher quality institution, but I can understand why you would want the traditional experience. I think that is what it comes down to.

thanks for all the advice, i think im gonna attend osu so i can find my major and then i'll look into either transferring or attending grad school in ny to get that city experience

I promise you are not going to want to leave after 2 yrs just wait til grad school haha. Greg Oden didn't even want to leave and there were millions waiting for him! The school spirit at OSU is phenomenal.
