Well, you are probably not very limited. I'd say that you have a fair shot at any college that you apply to.

It is important to know what your major will be. Do you live in Texas? Which part of the country do you prefer? Public or private?
University or LAC?

I live in Pennsylvania... i dont really have a preferance where the school is, but im not allowed to go to CA. Prefer private schools, and have no preference between universitys/lacs.

oh.. going into pre-med

What made Rice your number one choice? Great school, by the way. My friend's son went there before attending med school and he raves about it.

My mom went there, three of my cousins went there, one is still there... they absolutely love it. (plus most of my family lives in houston)... i think the college system is really cool, theres really not a single thing i dont like about Rice... its also excellent for sciences/engineering ( im considering engineering, but will probably do premed).. but my uncle is on the board of trustees, so im kind of assuming that i will get in, but i just want to have back-ups just in case it doesnt work out for me.

Swarthmore
Haverford
U Penn
Cornell
Carnegie Mellon
Princeton
Columbia
Brown
Yale
Dartmouth
U Chicago
U Rochester
Johns Hopkins
Amherst
Northwestern
Duke
Tufts
Vanderbilt
Williams

What do you think my chances would be at Dartmouth/Northwestern?

Northwestern would probably be a slight reach, no clue about Dartmouth.

Might look at Duke,Holy Cross, and Tufts all very good in pre-med. If want a campus with decent sports programs drop Tufts.

... ill just pray that i get into Rice

If you like Rice, apply to Stanford (that CA rule is crazy if you ask me). Other noted places for premed - Hopkins, URochester, Case Western, Northwestern - but also look into their programs for applying for admission to the Med Schools now (as a freshman) - very selective but you never know.

I second Northwestern...and you'll probably meet some pretty cool people in pre-med here, as many of them are double-majors (one girl on my hall is doubling in Performance Studies and Pre-med!).

Good luck!
