need help with some writing questions=)

<p>the two choices i am confused with are [state,is that getting together] and [state is getting together] </p>

<p>Feeling that the committee had too hastily decided several important issuues,Coucilman [asked for] further consideration to be given to his colleague's proposal</p>

<p>What is wrong with asked for??</p>

<p>I believe it should be changed to “asked that”</p>

<p>The first problem should be [state, is that getting together]. Take out the non-restrictive phrase (, which…state,), which leaves you with</p>

<p>“One argument in favor of an annual family picnic is that getting together in the other ways is so difficult.”</p>

<p>Once you remove the non-restrictive phrase, the sentence actually becomes quite easy.</p>
