need help with ti-89 with the Math 2c

hi, I just bought a ti-89. the manual is 700 pages long, and i don't think i would need to know every function of the calc. can anyone tell me which of the calc's function would be helpful for the math 2c? I will then look specifically in that part of the manual.thank you so much!

YEAH! I'm in the same boat. Heard an 89 titanium would be helpful in getting me closer to an 800 on the Math 2C so i picked one up... I have figured out how to factor, expand, and solve equations and the simutaneous equation solver... However, does anybody know the advantages of the 89 with trig? I cant find any trig features that the 83 doesnt have... is there like a fast way to solve law of cosines? I just preordered this book.... and would suggest u do the same.

yes, I also recently got a TI89 and have no idea how to use it...

help?

mine is the regular ti-89, not titanium. i think i know the book which you are talking about. but will it work?

i think it would be best if someone could list the things ti-89 could do and are helpful to the math 2c. that way, we can just go into the specific section of the manual on TI website. thanks

come on... i know many of u guys know the 89

i second the above comments!! I need to know how to use this think by october for my sat2s...

(pleeeease!!!)

^ same......

I got an 800 on math 2c, you will NOT need to use all the functions on the 89. I only used the auto solver, graphing untiliy, and simplifying utility, and those were just to double check work.

solve(function (in terms of a variable), variable)
like
solve(x^2+235213412412415134.234234123x-234135x^42, x)

check the new TI83-84 book of meylani, it has a special chapter on TI 89; it might help

thank you amacing

where are these functions
(I got this calc from a friend, and so have no such users manual)

amacing, if you want to use the Solve function, you need an EXPRESSION. The thing you listed is an EXPRESSION.

You need solve(x + 5 = 1, x)

You can also find derivatives, etc. but that isn't tested on MathIIC.

be familiar with the solve, factor, expand and graphing functions. thats about it.
