One reason that an insect can walk on walls while a human cannot is that the mass of its tiny body is far lower than humans.

Answer Choices
(A) far lower than humans
(B) far lower than that of a human's body
(C) lower by far than humans
(D) far lower than a human

I am confused..........Collegeboard says one thing, but I think it is another.

It’s a comparison. The two things being compared are the mass of the insect’s body to the mass of a human’s body. The mass (only the mass) of the insect is not being compared to an entire human.

that’s what I thought but on the collegeboard website, they say it is D! wow…you would think they would at least proof read their helpful hints…

You sure it’s not on that yellow sheet where they listed typos? o.O

It’s a comparison. The two things being compared are the mass of an insect’s body and the mass of a human body. More specifically, the mass of “its (note possessive) tiny body” and the mass of a human’s. (also note possessive, which wasn’t among the choices). B is logically correct regarding the comparison. (The other choices compare the mass of an insect’s body to an entire human…mass, warts, personality, IQ, etc.) The wordiness is a way to preserve the logic while not using the possessive form of human. The way we would most likely say it would be “far lower than a human’s” and perhaps drop the word “mass” as understood from the context.

Take it from an English teacher: You’re right. They’re wrong. What yellow sheet of typos? How do I find it?

Oh, this might be an online course. Nvm

I think the yeloow sheet you are referring to is in the Bluebook at the front. It lists all the mistakes in the book.

This is actually on their website under “Skills Insights.” It is their free prep material. Anyway, I sent them an email. I wonder if I will get a response!
