Need Help!!!!

Hey guys,

I'm currently a senior, and I'm completely done with all my college apps. But now I'm worried. I'm a little anxious so I just wanted to know what my chances would be for the colleges that I applied to. So here are my stats:

GPA(the killer): 3.56 (UW) (Screwed up bad in freshman and sophomore year but 4.0 in junior and currently 4.0 too ) 4.0(W)
SAT: 2370 (M: 800 CR: 800 W: 770) Super Score: 2390 (took it twice)
ACT: 35 (M: 36 S: 35 R: 35 W:35)
SAT II: Math II (800) Chem (800) Bio (800) Physics (720) Lit (770)
AP: Bio (5) Chem (5) Stats (5) Lit (5)-(huge surprise) US (3)
Classes this year- AP Lit; AP Physics; AP Environmental; AP Psych; AP Econ; AP Calc BC (yea you may think I'm trolling but this is like the typical schedule for everyone I know)

Well those are my grades and tests and now to the ECs:

USABO Semi Finalist

Summer Medical Research at UCSF (published and letter of rec from professor)

Water Project in India (With a help of a water purification company, I went to some villages where my parents grew up and established a water purification system. I had I job of building 5 water purification tanks, convincing the politicians there to pay for the project, and educating the people living there why it was necessary to have clean water)

Those are my top ECs and here are my rest:

Around 50 hours of aiding autistic kids at my Mom's school (letter of rec from teacher)

Around 240 hours of hospital volunteer

I shadowed a interventional cardiologist for around 40 hours

I played B-ball for like 2 years and Track for 2 years

I went to Jamaica over Winter Break this year to do a internship there. (Amazing experience highly recommend this for anyone who wants to go into the med field)

Letters of Rec:

AP Bio Teacher, English Teacher, AP Physics Teacher, US History teacher (I think this was crap), AP Chem Teacher

Water Purification Director, UCSF professor, Cardiologist, Doctor in Jamaica, Autistic Volunteer Class Teacher.

I think my essays were pretty good. My AP Lit teacher helped me out cause we're hecka chill and I got help from this Ivy Max Program for college apps (I know you guys prob think I'm nooob right, but it was actually really helpful)

Well that's pretty much it
And here are the schools I applied to:

UChicago
Stanford
Cal Tech
Johns Hopkins
WUSTL
Boston 7 year med
UMKC BS/MD
Northwestern (BS/MD) (but I wouldn't mind going even if I didn't get BS/MD)
UCLA
UC Berkley
Brown
UCSD (BS/MD)
Harvard (I know I got no chance, but my mom told me to)

Did you apply to any safety schools? The schools on your list are very selective & hard to predict for any qualified applicant. If your essays and letters of recommendation are strong, I think you have a chance to be admitted to some. But if you were my child I would also have a less selective school on the list.

There’s a website called parchment where you enter your stats and schools and it calculates your likelihood (%) to be admitted compared to other applicants.

You have a 3.56GPA and you didn’t apply to many middle tier schools.

UChicago :Reach (Cares too much about GPA)
Stanford :High Reach (Cares too much about GPA)
Cal Tech :High Reach (Cares too much about GPA)
Johns Hopkins :Reach (Cares too much about GPA))
WUSTL :Low Reach
Boston 7 year med : Reach/high Reach (Highly selective programs such as this one don’t consider anyone below 3.75GPA)
UMKC BS/MD :High Match
Northwestern (BS/MD):High Reach for BS/MD, Reach for Regular (Cares too much about GPA)
UCLA:Match
UC Berkley: Reach (Cares WAYYY too much about GPA)
Brown:High Reach (Cares too much about GPA)
UCSD (BS/MD):High Match/Low Reach
Harvard (I know I got no chance, but my mom told me to): You got this right ,No chance

Who helped you come up with this list, you may get into one of these schools but you are risking so much by applying to so many reach schools!! What a position to be in. And you have NO safeties ??

It looks like the OP is a California resident. If so, the safety school is probably the closest CCC because after two years there, the OP will have preference to transfer into the UC system. With a CCC as the safety, the OP doesn’t have to apply until after getting the admissions results from all the places on the list.

First of all thank you guys so much for the honest chances. And happymomof1 your absolutely right about CCC and transfer into UC. But the schools I listed above are the schools I applied to for RD. I already got accepted to Emory as EA, so thats probably going to be my safety school. Now I’m just trying to see if I can get into any better school than Emory.

^Emory is a great school.

Your right drac313, but the thing is that my dream schools are university of chicago and WUSTL. I like emory too, especially the campus, but I still wanted to try and see if I could get into either one of those. As for the other schools, except for UCLA, UCB, and UCSD, I just applied because they were top ranked. Like I would seriously go to WUSTL, UofC, or Emory over everyone of those schools (except for Harvard, maybe ;))

bump!!!
