Hey,
So I have been discussing with my parents what school I should attend for the past few weeks. I didn’t have time to visit colleges the past few weeks and finally got time yesterday and today. After visiting colleges, I finally decided that San Diego State is the school for me. It’s great and all that I finally fell in love with a school BUT I may have screwed myself over. Unfortunately, SDSU requires both an official transcript and AP scores to be sent in by May 1st. Of course I don’t mind about the AP tests(even though I’m losing credits since I passed most of my exams) but the transcript is clearly really important. It says as long as I have it timestamped before May 1st, they will accept the transcript but I’m not sure if my school will be able to cough up an official transcript on Monday(Literally April 30th, the day before the deadline). I’ve emailed both my counselors, the transcript office, and SDSU admissions but again I screwed myself again. Most school related places take the weekend off and do not read emails, especially on Sundays. IVE LITERALLY DOOMED MYSELF. Would my admission be rescinded for sure if I send in a late transcript or are they a bit more lenient? I didn’t realize this until after I submitted my intent to enroll fee($400 holy cow) so I can’t get that back which makes this suck even more. Idk what to do, any advice would be appreciated here… Thanks.
Be at your guidance counselors door first thing on Monday morning, like as soon as your high school opens, to ask him/her (polotely) to run it, date stamp it, and send it. Until May 1 rolls around you haven’t messed up, just created a time crunch for yourself and your counselor. Learn from this to prevent similar situations in the future.
I have definitely learned my lesson and will be sure to get to school extra early on Monday. Thank you for your advice!
Are you in California? If so they can do it electronically and should be fine. If out of state, it needs to be postmarked by May 1st. Send 1st class and get a tracking number. Call admissions Monday and explain. See if they can make a note of your call, so they know it was addressed. Would still send AP scores rushed. You are not the only one with this issue, and I do wish they informed students about this more effectively.
Also, keep an eye on your emails to see when housing opens up for you. I believe you need to register for it by May 4th
