need help)))

hi everybody!
I want to take my A-levels in Britain but I am a german student and had spend my school time in germany so I need the curriculum(the topics) of the UK schools and the A-levels to prepare for. I mean what are they study? What special topics and themes?? Who can help, please!?

There are many boards that offer A levels in Britain. Most famous of them are OCR (www.ocr.org.uk), Edexcel (www.edexcel.org.uk), and QCA (www..qca.org.uk). Visit their sites for syllabus and sample papers.

Basically, you take 3-4 subjects over a period of 2 years. They don't have to be interrelated, i.e. you can take Maths, History and Economics.

^^thx!!!!, but what if I need three science subjects (want to study medicine afterwards) and want to take i.e. additional language?

^^(www.ocr.org.uk), Edexcel (www.edexcel.org.uk), and QCA (www..qca.org.uk).
can`t find this sides!!

i made it throught google=]

You can easily take three science subjects, many people do that. Check the websites of the UK med schools you're interested in, and they will often list some of the subjects they'd like you to have studied and the grades they expect.

thx GenBanks)))

Phy/Chem/Bio is a popular comination, and you could add whatever language you're interested in as a 4th.

Jrock, yea thats what I am thought about))) maybe additional human bio and psychologie, is it possible? I mean can you take so much stuff at all? Will you get through with this or is it too much?

It's possible. These days, it's very popular to take 5 or even 6 A-levels. If you think you can handle it, go ahead. I self-studied for math in one month, and physics in two weeks, and got A and B.

You could take some exams in your first year, and others after your second year. It can always be done.

"You could take some exams in your first year, and others after your second year. It can always be done." - You can? I didnt know that, but it sounds like a good possiblity!

Technically, the AS-Levels are usually done a year before the A-levels are done if you want to do that route. This way, you can get much of the preliminary coursework out of the way, in order to have a less stressful second year. And if the syllabus for a particular subject is not that heavy, and you're pretty good at it, then you might just go for the complete exam after your first year, and focus on the rest.

Various schools will have their different policies on this I guess, but I think you also have considerable leverage in planning your A-level schedule.

Jrock thx, I will think about it!
