hi i am currently a sophomore, and willing to be one of the student in MIT!!
but i don't know anything about MIT. what are the requirements to get in??
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Wow. Your username is MITLOVER, but you don't know anything about MIT?

www.mit.edu

Hey, it's permissable to love something without knowing much about it -- I love Mountain Dew, but I have no idea what terrible ingredients are in it corroding my internal organs as we speak.

MITLOVER, to get into MIT, you'll need to take the SAT I and 3 SAT II tests (one math, one science, and a third of your choice). You'll obviously need to take a rigorous set of high school courses and have passion about some extracurricular activity(ies), but these obviously vary from person to person.

i don't know anything seriously..
hehe...
but my dream relates to the tech.
so i thought MIT is the best school offers them..
and also.. i like the view!!!!! of campus!!! it is sosososo pretty!!!!!
haha;;

i am thinking of joining many clubs do they look at how deep you are involved or the number of the club??
and also the history and literature.. i am not good at those..
do they think those are important??

MIT will look for technology courses/clubs mostly.

NOBODY CAN HELP YOU NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111111oneoneone omg *** lol jk hahaha roflmao;;

MIT will most definitely look at how deeply you're involved in your ECs, and depth is more important than breadth. For MIT admissions (and, frankly, for your development as a person), it's better to do a few things that you're really psyched about than to do a million things just for the resume.

As for history and literature... so it's important to do well generally in high school, but if humanities-type stuff isn't your bag, that's okay. One of my friends who just graduated this year in mechanical engineering is a brilliant designer, but a terrible writer (and speller! dear God)... it is, of course, more common around here to be like my friend than it is to be the other way around.

haha.. i got some information thanks everyone!!
and one more... SAT2 do you take as many as you can??(is it better to take just three??)
and for AP exam... is it ok if i do bad on my AP exam??
i am just curious...ha. thanks!

and for rank.. i saw they think it as IMPORTANT!!!
my rank was 7th for 1st semester and 21!~~~!!!!!!! for 2nd semester!!
is that ok??( this is for my 9th year.)

"is it ok if I do bad on my AP exams?"

if something happened in the past, nothing you can do now, but don't purposely do bad on future AP exams.

Could you post your current stats? I am a rising junior, and would be interested in seeing em.

wow, weird...your birthday is one day before mine. I don't think they even pay much attention to your freshman grades. Also, I see you're from Georgia, which could help

hold on... how would being from georgia help in getting into MIT? Georgia... the state ranked around 49-50th in national sat ranking...???

thanks --sagar_indurkhya-- i am planning to take AP exam not yet took one of those...and what do you mean STATS??
i do get it..
and --theblumuffin-- i know GEORGIA is not that great... i think this state is on the country side... ha how will that help me to get into MIT??

wow. kennesaw, georgia? that really is on the country side.i know five girls from chattahoochee got into MIT but kennesaw... i don't know... what high school do you go to? kennesaw mountain high? kell? pebblebrook? it all matters which high school in georgia you go to. (my cousin lives in georgia so i'm pretty familiar with what goes on down there)

i go to kennesaw mt.... i know... this school isn't that great...as chattahoochee....
by the way.. you are really familiar with my area!!

I can't tell for sure if you are kidding or not. Regardless, these sites/blogs were invaluable during my daughter's college application process. There were a great resource for me too.

These folks are truly incredible in their dedication to serious applicants. They were beyond compare when I measured them against the other college admission offices. If you are sincere, I sincerely wish you good luck.
