Hey I'm a prospective student in high school with good, but not great, grades. I have a strong passion for film editing and i just went on colorado film school's website and it looks like a great film school. Has anyone been/currently attend the school? If so, how is it? Does anyone know the job placement and career opportunities statistics or effectiveness of the school after you graduate? What are the chances of getting accepted, is it highly selective or does it accept more than average? What are the requirements to get accepted, do they look at GPA and SAT scores more than they do the creative portfolio, talent, personal statement, recommendation or vice versa? And any other info/perspective on the school would be appreciated. Thanks so much to whoever can answer this!

Bump…

Be careful about majoring in film.

The New York Times recently had a big article about how hard it is to get even a minimal job in that field.

I know about the risks, trust me… I just want to know info about the school, so if anyone has any, I’d appreciate it:)

digmedia should dedicated his thread to you!!
check it up^

I don’t know much: but here is what I do know. They accept about 225 a year. Many are transfers. They have two programs: the 4 year undergrad, and an immersion program that takes less time, and doesn’t grant a BFA, but has the same number of credits as an MFA program, and allows you to finish quickly (11 months) and get into the field.

You apply and you’re not a total loser, then you’re in (pretty much open admissions). At least for now. As more people find out about the program, that may change in the future.
