Just wondering how good the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (film and television) School is. My son attends a university now and wants to drop out to attend this school. He has already auditioned and was accepted. I would appreciate any input on the quality of this school Thanks

This question came up last year, and never elicits (unfortunately) many responses. I can say only that all of the kids I know of who auditioned for this school (which used to be called The School for Film and Television) got in and were given what sounded like generous scholarships. One of those students is now attending, or at least was last semester. I haven’t heard if he likes it or not; I know he went mainly because it was the place that gave him the most money.

It is a great school believe it ot not. You may want to go to a summer workshop first though. I wouldn’t go there, because I want to go to school for print journalism too. I have meant them at an acting convention before, and they were very nice. They do give out good scholarships, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad.

You might want to ask that question on the Backstage message board or even the PARF board. For the Backstage board - [Acting Resources- BackStage.com - Your Source for Entertainment News and Acting Auditions](http://www.backstage.com) and click on “messages” (I think, it’s automatic so I don’t quite remember but it’s pretty easy).

PARF is a little harder as that too is automatic on my computer. Try googling Delphi Forums, and once you’re there search for PARF and it should get you there. PARF if a forum for parents of acting kids and there are some incredibly knowledgeable and helpful people there. Ask on the Teen/Young Adult section.

Good luck!

lav: did you ever ask them? I’m intrested to know. I’ll make an account if you don’t care.

Ask anything you’d like to know. I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Are you part of the program? I’ve heard stories that NYDA accepts anybody. How hard is it to get into? How’s the summer program and is it competitive for the scholarship. How has your experience been?
