Need input on sending ACT scores

Son is trying to meet several Dec. 1 application deadlines. He took the ACT in June and scored a 31. He took it again in Oct. and just received his score, a 32. I had thought he could send the score reports today and have several weeks for them to arrive. (One of the Dec. 1 schools received the June score so at least that application will have one official score.) What son and I forgot is that the writing score is not yet available and I do not think ACT will send a report without it. And now that we are thinking about the writing score, if it is terrible would there be any sense in just sending the 31 (writing score was a 10)?

I am trying to decide whether to order the June score report now for the colleges that have not received that report or wait until the writing score is available for the Oct. test?

I would wait. If the writing score is good, send it, and if not, send the other. No harm done.
