Hi, I'm a junior from Nj & i absolutely need help and want to know my chances of being able to get accepted into a decent premed program. For my SATs, i have gotten a 590 on the verbal, 610 on the math, & a 660 on the writing. Throughout highschool, i have maintained a 4.4 weighted & a 4.129 unweighted GPA. Also, in total, i'd have taken AP US history, AP English, AP Calc, AP Chemistry, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, & physics. Also, i have an internship at a doctor's office. For extra curricular activities, i'm in national honor society, environmental science, LMTI, interact club, football cheering, and the fundraising committee. I have atleast 300 hours in volunteer hours from peer tutoring, summer recreation, etc. With this information, would you be able to suggest any premed schools that i could possibly apply to & get accepted? I'm scared that it won't be enough compared to those other applicants that have amazing SAT scores. Also, I have never taken the SAT Is, SAT IIs, or the ACT. And also, i want to become a medical examiner if that helps at narrowing down colleges? Thanks, I appreciate it !!! :)

You need to raise your SAT scores if you want to make it to a highly ranked college. However, your GPA in college and MCAT score are much more important for med school acceptance than the prestige of the college you attend.

You have a good chance at Boston University, which has a pretty good 7 year BA/MD program, but you have to maintain a 3.2 and get 30 on the MCAT. Also look at UMass-Amherst, UMCP, or some of the SUNYs.

Thanks !! How much higher do you think i need to have a likely chance to get accepted? I have already taken the SATs twice, so my one in June will probably be the last one.
