need match schools!!!!!!!

i'm a rising hs senior needing "good match" schools. I'm in the top ten people in a class of 500 at a competitive public school in MA. i have good ECs and will have taken 7 APs total. My Sats (2nd try) were in the high 2300s. My reach schools are Ivies, MIT, etc. and I have ideas for safeties, but I have no match schools. My counselor told me that tufts, bu, bc, etc. are "matches"--but i need more ideas.

but not LACs, please

Are you only looking in New England/MA? Engineering?

looking at colleges in new england and ny

for science and engineering, esp. biomed

(had to change username from 1234 to 4321)--- long story

also: would rpi or wpi be match schools? or would those be safeties... (uconn and umass, etc. are considered safeties)

suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Johns Hopkins, RPI, Case Western, Carnegie Mellon,

would rpi be a match or a safety? i have a 4.6 weighted and tons of ECs... idk. also... my parents don't want me to go too far, so jhu and pennsylvania is basically out

Remember that it's hard to consider anything a real safety nowadays, except for your in-state public university for which you know your stats meet their criteria and will get you in. A private university like BU may be a safety for you, but think if it's worth the extra bucks compared to the state.
For MA/NY: Tufts would be a match. U of Rochester, WPI. But you would have to look at their programs to see if they fit your interests (?biomed) Your counselor suggested BC, don't know if they even have engineering. RPI probably closer to a match.
Think about if you want to attend a tech institute, or a university with various colleges and an engineering program/school. The later will give you more options if you decide you want to switch out of engineering to another major while you are there, and will put you in a school with more people with interests different from yours which sometimes makes life more interesting. and varied. But it's a personal thing.

brandeis, rochester

thanks. any others?
