Im will be junior at a public university and i want to get into med school.
I need advice

Currently im a bio and fine arts double major.
and my gpa is around a 3.6
3.5 bcmp
3.7 non-science

my mcat score is a 36

12 B, 12 V, 12P

I have done numerous shadowing and volunteer work at hospitals
I have also done research on pathogens etc.

My major concern is that my gpa is not high enough. I only have my junior year left to improve my GPA and if i get a 4.0, it will probabaly raise it to 3.7 max.

Do i have a chance at ivy league med schools?
should i drop art?

36 is impressive on your MCATs. Your current GPA doesn’t match of course. I suggest you do whatever you can to raise it in your Junior Year. It could definitely make a difference in which medical schools you could expect to get into.

Post some more details about your ECs. Especially research, in terms of publications and stuff. Where’d you go to college, or if you don’t want to say does your college have a rep for having a tough grading system?

Good point on the tough grading system at some schools (for example, Cornell has a rep for being perhaps the easiest Ivy to get into but then it’s tough to get a high GPA). A 3.7 GPA from Cornell with a 36 on the MCATs could be good enough for an Ivy level med school as long as the demonstrated commitment to med is also there from HS and college extracurrics.
