Need more information about San Francisco State University

Hello everyone,

Just joined this forum and I was advised to post my question here. I wanted to ask if SF State biology classes are impacted? I tried searching online but nothing solid came up. I also emailed their department and have received no response yet so I was wondering if I could get more input before I can make my decision.

Thanks for your time

No it is not impacted. Here is a link to 2013/2014 impacted majors for all CSU’s. http://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/impactedprogramsmatrix.pdf

Everything is impacted at sf state. You should just go to ccsf ad then transfer to sf state. They have this guarentee program between the two.

Biology is one of the most popular majors.
The major itself is not classified as impacted, but the courses are difficult to enroll in because of their popularity.

As mentioned, biology is a popular major and required courses are very difficult to get into. Two part classes are nearly impossible to get into one after the other. The biology major demands more credit hours than other majors (75?) so that the combined effect is a 4 year degree will likely take 5 years or more, even with concurrent enrollment at SF City College or another school plus summer classes.
