Extra Information:
My high school does not rank as it is highly competitive.

Intended Major:
Political Science / Pre-Law

Here is my school list thus far...plenty of safeties and reaches, but not nearly enough match schools...

Safeties -
American University
Muhlenberg College
Penn State - University Park
University of Pittsburgh

Matches -
George Washington University
University of Rochester

Reaches -
Brandeis University
Tufts University
University of Pennsylvania (I have the music hook...talking with the department head right now...who knows...maybe they need a trombone. That combined with legacy & stuff could push me in. I know it's a long shot, but I'm counting on connections on music to JUST maybe allow an underqualified person such as myself to slide in...)

Basically, I'm looking for colleges that are strong in pre-law and poli sci...not too huge, not too tiny...confined to the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and New England, and a decent Jewish population. Based on my current list, could you guys find some more colleges (preferably match schools) that I might like?

Temple?
Georgetown(for a big reach)
UVA(big reach)
Rutgers
Tufts(reach)
Boston University?
UNC-Chapel Hill(reach)

Bowdoin. It has a very good gov't department and get over 85% of its applicants into law school. Take a look at it www.Bowdoin.edu.

maybe oberlin? they have lots of music opportunities. i would say it could be a match for you. i don't know much about pre-law though

BU, BC, NYU, Maryland, William & Mary

Temple? I already have enough safeties and besides...its 20 minutes from home...

Georgetown would be a big reach...HUGE reach as a matter of fact...

College counselor says that UVA is anti-Semitic...it would be impossible for me to get in anyway.

Rutgers...again, already have a substantial safety count.

Tufts - It was on my list a reach! lol..

BU - I HATED the campus...

UNC Chapel Hill - Don't be fooled by my "varsity golf" in season, I'm an upper 80s / lower 90s player...my coach just happens to hand out letters like candy. Nope...no Chapel Hill for me...

Bowdoin - Would be tough...

Oberlin - FAR LEFT! I'm completely moderate..

BC - CATHOLIC! I'm JEWISH!

NYU - NYC isn't my scene

Maryland - Too Huge

William & Mary - IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME

sigh...

NYU and Macalester.

Georgetown and BC are both Catholic, which could turn out to be a good thing for you. On a Catholic campus you'd be something different and interesting, as opposed to at all the other colleges, where you'd be just another...ah...you know. Plus, don't you want to pi$$ off your parents by bringing home a tall blond guy named Ryan Kelly?

Yes. Since I'm a straight male, I would REALLY like to bring home a tall blond GUY named Ryan Kelly.

Georgetown is 15% Jewish. BC is just 3% Jewish and they actually CONSIDER religion in admissions.

skidmore, union, dickinson, barnard if female, binghamton

Ok, Grace Kelly!!

U of Richmond
Lehigh
Barnard
Wellesley

I'm a moderate conformist type...Skidmore = no go

Dickinson and Binghamton I could see

Richmond - College counselor says a handful of Semites

Lehigh - PARTY SCHOOL! Not my scene

Barnard and Wellesley - why does everyone think im a girl?!

There are a ton of jewish people at Georgetown and BC...just as there are a some republicans and more moderates at Oberlin.

"Why does everyone think I'm a girl?!"

Because you're so picky (this one's too this, that one's too that, etc.). And you fall into the all-too-female habit of dramatizing everything using exclamation marks--like a diva having a hissy fit over her bathwater being one degree too cold. Butch it up a little bit, would ya?

And at BC you'd probably have a BETTER chance of getting in because you're Jewish. They're falling all over themselves at BC trying to prove they're openminded, inclusive, and diverse. They have had a Hillel for decades. Sorry, make that: ...decades!!!!!!!

sorry for being "picky" about choosing the place where i'll be spending the next four years of my life. sorry for the exclamation marks. a clause with great emphasis is supposed to have them. it's called proper freaking punctuation.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh...sorry for all the exclamation points...too feminine?

Funny, you're a stickler for punctuation, but couldn't give %$&# about capitalization!!! Here's an original idea: Brandeis!

typing in a rush causes that...masculine enough for ya?

Brandeis...was...already...on...the...list...in...case...you...didn't...notice...

Sorry. Didn't notice. My fault.

Georgetown has a very good Jewish population. It isnt a school that would make our parents angry. BC on the other hand...Well...I wouldnt want to see the look on my parents faces if I told them I'm going to a Jesuit school. Big difference between BC and GTown....
