i need motivation in school. It seems as if i have given up on getting those A's now and the 4.0's. I didnt give up fully but more like i can not study, it is too hard for me to WANT to study and when i do study my mind wander off and i just cant study no more or just lost that motivation to study. I REALLY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO STUDY WELL or just so i can focus on it. PLUS it seems like i cannot get into my dream college which is Berkeley because my Gpa is pretty low compared to everyone elses with state GPA is 3.5 weighted its 3.60. i needddd muchooo help!!!

Motivation:

"Study now as if you're investing for you're future business"

"The amount you study now makes the difference between a billionaire, or a beggar on the street"

Think about those two. And when studying, remember those. That's how I keep going. 4.0's babay

You can do it. Hows that for motivation?

Remember, no matter how hard you study, how much you study, and how well you do, there is always a kid in a poor small village who is near starvation, uses but a single lightbulb, and studies twice as hard and long as you. Remember that whenever you are not studying this other person is. And when the two of you meet, this other person will win.

Well said. btw were you in that predicament

Sleep, live, and eat while studying. Every time you don't, a leprechun will burst in the room and chop off a finger. You want your fingers now don't you...

or...

Just remember that you only go as far as you bring yourself.

i feel somewhat motivated now after reading these funny and deep things you guys said thx but now how do i focus in studying because that is superrrrrr hard to do

To focus on studying it really depends on you. For example. I know a bunch of people who study in somewhere that doesn't have too much going on and is perfectly quiet. On the other hand, if I try to study like that, I can't focus and get quickly frustrated from the quiet.

Personally I prefer to have music on or the tv on(for the sound factor), sit cross legged on my bed or somewhere comfortable and start going over things(with the occasional singing spree or uncontrollable laughing).

In the end, I would suggest choosing a relaxing spot with not too many distractions(if any at all). Then just read over the notes and pretend its a good book or do problems while imagining them as simple math. If you get frustrated take a 5 minute break.

i just need background sound of some kind. Too much and I get distracted too little and I fall asleep

That sounds like a REALLY good idea i soo am goign to try that to study for my french quiz because like i do the same thing as you, getting frustrated after 5 minutes which studying in a quite place its just sooo ARGHHH

Just sit back, relax, and be content to be in the top 10% of your class. At any school where you need to be a perfect student to be admitted, there is a lot more to admission than your academic credentials. At these schools, admissions is a long shot for EVERYONE, even those with perfect grades, perfect test scores, leadership positions in winning Varsity sports teams, Nobel Prizes, AND a better community service record than Mother Theresa. For all you know, you could be rejected because the phase of the moon, the mood of the admissions officer, or the temperature in Scottsbluff, Nebraska isn't quite right.
