Need new transfer suggestions please!!

Hi! I am going to be a sophomore at my community college and my original plan was to go to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, but due to some personal issues going on over summer my GPA kinda tanked and now I have a 3.2 GPA. I am really bummed about this because I really wanted to go to LMU and I kinda put all my eggs in one basket and only took classes that LMU required because I thought I would get in. Now that my gpa dropped I am starting to think LMU is no longer an option for me. I am a political science major and a minor in journalism hoping to pursue law, so a school with a good law program would be ideal. What are some good private schools that I can apply to as a back up?? My transferable math is stats (Math 10) so that also limits on where I can go since most colleges require college algebra.

forgot to mention the places I am not interested in: Northern California and gloomy states like oregon or washington.

What’s your budget? How soon are your parents are moving OOS? If you’re considered a CA resident, you may may want to try to finish your education there. I don’t think you’ll get in state rates anywhere else.

Hi! I don’t really have a budget because I’m taking out loans anyways after I see how much my GI Bill covers. Im considered in state for california but only want to go to a private school so it doesn’t really matter if im in state or not as the tuition rates are normally the same

“I’m taking out loans anyways”

Right now taking out loans might seem easy. However, those loans need to be paid back with interest. Many new graduates from university are doing well if they can get a job in their field that pays enough to barely cover living costs.

You need to keep the cost of college in mind as a very important factor. You should try hard to minimize the amount of loans that you need to take out.

If you qualify for in-state tuition at California public universities, then you really need to take them seriously. California has a great system of in-state public universities.
