Thus far, I've applied to UVA, Georgetown, Northwestern, Tufts, and the Honors programs at George Washington and Delaware. Obviously, those first 4 are some of the most selective schools in the nation, and the last two are more safety options for me. My question is, with my credentials, listed below, is there one or more schools incould add to my list. I would like a school below that top tier, but higher than the safeties. I'm looking to go into finance or business, so perhaps keep that in mind. Any ideas?

Credentials:

1480 SATs (2230 w/ writing)
4.2 GPA (out of 4.0)
9 AP classes over three years
National Merit Commended Scholar
Varsity athlete & captain

I think you might risk not applying to enough schools. If I were you I would add:

Vandy, WashU, Emory, BC, and Wake Forest. All 4500-6500 student schools with community and similar to the others on your list. Maybe also Michigan or UNC.

OP could aim higher. I would suggest having William & Mary as the “school below that top tier, but higher than the safeties” and adding another reach.

Holy Cross and Colgate both very good LAC’s with strong business and Wall Street alumni networks. Both schools are easier to get into than Gtown and NW. HC is also need blind for admissions.

I’m from Connecticut, so a school like Emory might be a little far. I like the level of Colgate, by I’m a
little worried by its lack of business and finance courses. Any ideas with that in mind? I looked in to Vanderbilt and Holy Cross and I think I’ll be applying to both…
