need opinion on scheduling...

as of right now, i have four classes on thursday. i'm thinking that's a lil too much. i can move one of my thursday classes to friday so that i'm done by 3pm, but several people have told me friday is not a good idea. i can also move the class to wednesday so that i'd have 3 classes on wed & thurs, but that would require a 10 minute walk from young hall to covel commons and that doesn't seem realistic. opinion? sorry for the annoying question, but i don't really know where else to ask.

why is friday not a good idea? 3pm isnt even that late.

I avoid Friday classes at allll costs. I just know that I wouldn't want to show up to a Friday 3 pm class, so I don't schedule them. If you think you'll go though then it's not a problem.

I have 4 classes on Tuesday and 3 on Thursday. I've done it for years (in different combinations) and it works out for me. I prefer to consolidate my classes so I have more time for errands/work/whatever. If this is your first quarter I definitely suggest spreading it out a little more, though.

Four classes on a Thursday is not good...
Personally, I would rather get out of class later on Friday than be tired on Thursday.

hey flopsy, remember she's north campus :p

Yep. It's really not all that taxing.

my friend whos a pre-biz econ major had fridays free all 3 quarters last year. its nearly impossible for south campusers to have a free friday.

Yeah. It's never been a problem for me to not do Fridays. We have lots and lots of options, especially since most of our professors don't even like to be around on Fridays.

another reason to switch to north campus! =)

yes, I can't get rid of that annoying one hour class on friday either. (south campuser)

I know. I'm in same situation as funnyman... okay, 50 min. discussion. I could sign up for thursday afternoon discussion, but I hate having classes in the afternoon. So my discussion's Friday 10-10:50

Oh see that's why I hate discussions.

I've also eliminated classes with those.

/Officially a senior, yo.

if you want to party on thursday night... you might not want to have a class on friday morning :]

but i think the original poster meant that she'll be done by 3pm on thursday if she has a class on friday.

anyways, it's mainly up to you. if you can survive a day with four classes, then go for it. and you can use friday to do another things like working, if you are planning to, or going out.

BUT you might be tired out with so many classes in one day, and by the last class, your mind probably shut off from learning anything.

Ah yes. My internet messageboard reading comprehension is low tonight. For shame.

My comment still applies though. If it's your first quarter, definitely try to spread it out. You'll have lots and lots of quarters to avoid Friday classes.

oops, i misread it too. if you're going to have classes on friday, dont make it so you only have one...because honestly you won't feel like ever going at all.

actually that would apply to everyday, not just friday.

Seconded. It's really hard to drag yourself to class when you only have to be there for one.

Oh that's good to know. I have one class Monday at 11 for 50 mins. Oh well...

what about the walk from young to covel? possible or no?

Walking from Young Hall to Covel Commons (and vice versa) takes a solid 15 minutes.
