Need opinions on my Common App Activities essay

Hello,

I'm filling my Common App now, and have reached the stage wherein you are supposed to write about a particular extra-curricular activity you've done. I'm writing about an incident that took place in the organization I volunteer at.

The word limit, according to the Common App, is 1000 words. But this essay has only 487 words. Will that be a problem?

By the way, because it is just 487 words, it could function as my actual Common App essay too. So when you're reading and critiquing it, help me with that decision too, please?

Please reply to this thread if you're interested in reading it and I'll PM you. I want someone else's opinion on the language used, the reflections noted, the tone coming off and the general essay itself.

Thanks in advance!

Woops. I messed up. BIG time. I mistook the 1000 character maximum for a 1000 word maximum. I’ll rework this essay with that in mind.

But, in the meanwhile, could you please read it from the point of view of my main Common App essay. It’d still be very helpful!

pm me, i’d love to read/critique it

I would too, pm me!

Okay, so I created a new draft of this essay. It’s less than 1000 characters now, and much more suited to the form I believe. Anyone else interested in helping me out?
