Currently signed up to take Pre-Calc AB next year in 11th grade. I'm worried about not being able to use a calculator. I'm bad at math as it is. I'm pretty sure I need this though for an Advanced Regents Diploma here in New York . Please re-assure me that it isn't hard!

It isn’t that hard, don’t worry too much. The non-calculator bits are really to stop you from using calculators for things like exact trig values which are easily memorized and understood.
But you definitely need it. Absolutely take it. Maybe a lower level if you’re nervous?

Although I suggest taking it, advanced regents diploma only requires algebra, geometry and trig regents plus one more year of math (precalc, stats or even marketing or business at my school) I believe.

I’m in your shoes in terms of being worried for the class. I was originally going to do FST (Functions, Statistics, Trigonometry), but everyone motivated me and told me that Pre Calculus is a must for universities apparently, even my counselor. (And this is what my counselor told me, APPARENTLY Pre Calculus is remedial math at some colleges, kinda how like Pre Algebra is in high school, kinda believe that, but at the same time I don’t.)

I feel confident about it for some reason from what people told me about the addition of some Geometry in it, despite of me struggling in Algebra II, but I’m superior in Geometry. (lol)

If Pre Calculus will be your only analytical class then you should be completely fine, with a decent teacher at minimum. If you’re taking like Physics and a bunch of those other analytical or/and math classes, good luck and start managing. I hope you’re also taking Pre Calculus core, not Accelerated/Honors…
